Where Can I Fly an Ultralight/Microlight Aircraft?

Because ultralight/microlight aircraft flying is a largely a hobby for unlicensed pilots, federal officials typically like to keep us folks away from the big cities, big planes and super secret military bases.

The particulars are the following:

• No flying over big cities
• No flying before dawn or after dusk
• No flying in the clouds
• No flying around military bases
• No flying around airports with control towers without prior permission

If you are new to the sport, you might consider contacting local instructors and clubs in your area to learn the ropes, meet other microlight aircraft pilots, and fly with them in formation on cross-country expeditions.
